The first time she approached this language it was in kindergarten. She learned the basic vocabulary that are used to being taught to children for example the alphabet, animals, numbers and colours. Growing up she started to deepen it especially in the middle school. By the way, she is still improving it while she is studying other two Languages: Spanish and German. Even if she knows them properly, she is much more fluent in English and Spanish than in German. Just because she watches lots of videos, tv programs, movies, and she also reads news and books in those two languages.

Regarding the pronunciation of some words that she doesn’t know, she suggests using the online dictionary to listen to its pronunciation. And also, to use subtitles if the tv programme has a specific topic and uses a range of difficult vocabulary for instance, she watched MasterChef and learnt new words about cooking.

She absolutely loves studying languages that is why she chooses to attend Language Program at School. Mimmi has never faced problems to understand English because she has been in America and England a couple of times. These wonderful experiences allowed her to enrich her linguistic knowledge, but it has also made her grow and deal with situations in which, despite being in difficulty, she had to find out other words to make herself understood.

She stayed in a college in New Jersey while she attended classes, communicated with American and foreign students from all over the world and finally visited many wonderful places like New York and New Jersey. During her stay, she had an embarrassing episode: she just had a sip of a soda while she was waiting for the elevator to come up and when it opened Tyler, one of the cutest boys of the group, started laughing because she accidentally missed a burp. Later on, he started following her on Instagram and when they had the opportunity to talk, they had a lot in common, so they immediately became closer.

Therefore, at the end of the story she encourages everyone to travel and spend time abroad. She never thought she’d meet a friend in these circumstances; despite the embarrassing episode, now the two are very close friends and are still keeping in touch. So, if are given the opportunity to go abroad, do not be reluctant, it's worth it.
